The Beer Guru is a mysterious figure. Some believe he is part-man, part-god, a fully enlightened avatar who has incarnated on the Earth at this time to save humanity from its self-destructive tendencies and cheap canned lager.
Those who have seen him claim he is young and handsome, like Johnny Depp.
Others say he is a crazy old man with wild eyes and an unkempt grey beard which sprouts from his face like horse-hair from a burst cushion.
Both may be true, for in this life, we are all on a journey from youth to old age and beer can speed your transition dramatically, sometimes overnight.
It can also, if you follow the Beer Guru’s teachings, be the font of eternal youth and wisdom.
As a young man, the Beer Guru trained for many years with a teacher and holy man, Sai Gaga, the Barmy Swami.
His teachings therefore stand on a long-established foundation of eastern mysticism.
His unique approach developed when it became time for the young Guru to find his own path.
He bade farewell to Sai Gaga and journeyed alone through the foothills of the Himalayas.
By a very circuitous route, his travels led him to Bavaria, where he met the renowned Braumeister, Otto Von Bonfire, who was destined to become his next teacher.
Otto was a direct descendant of the eccentric King Ludwig II, and was to entrust the young Beer Guru with the closely guarded secrets of the Bavarian brewers’ art. (The Bavarian brewing purity law, the Reinheitsgebot, allows no artificial ingredients in their beers, making them the Beer Guru’s equivalent of holy water.)
By the time he returned to his ancestral homelands, the spiritual knowledge of the east had fermented with the divine beer of the west and alchemically fused in the Beer Guru’s mind.
He knew he was in a unique position to combine mysticism and beer in a heady potion.
In a secret valley, hidden high in the Himalayas, he created a sacred Beer and a new spiritual path.
A path of transformation and enlightenment through divine intoxication and the mysteries of beer.
The way of the Beer Guru.
